Carpe Diem: Relax

Time

Now while I'm happy I live in this modern day and age, a part of me has always wanted to live during the 60's and 70's. I at least hope it's clear to you why I would want to, The music (Hendrix and The Beatles), the clothing, everyone was free and did what they wanted to, and doing drugs was actually what everyone did and no one frowned upon this. It was fucking awesome. I was recently at a production of Hair which took place in the 60's and I was sitting in front of this group of old people, some of which were actual grandparents. During the intermission I heard these old people talk about all the crazy shit they did when they were young, at one point this guy said that Booze+ LSD+ Weed= Everyone naked and a great time. Then this 60ish year old woman was talking about how she used to drop LSD all the time, I thought this was crazy because if we did this today someone everywhere has to look down on it when all these people wanted to do was live life and have a good time doing it. Everyone was generally happy, and they would spread love through protests, music and just by being happy people. I wish today more people would be just as equally motivated to be like this, we'd all be a little more happy.

I'm not saying that the only reason I would want to live during this time is so I could drop some acid and just trip hard, but that certainly doesn't hurt. The main reason why I want to live in the greatest time ever is for the music, all of The Beatles were alive and they were actually playing shows. Hendrix was alive and I would have loved to have seen him set his guitar on fire at the Monterey Pop Festival in '68, or even better yet to see the magic he produced at Woodstock in '69 with his star spangled banner.

Today as far as music goes, of course I have to go way back in time and bring out the best this time has to offer. All of these songs are all too good for me to be able to recommend one over the other, just enjoy them all!
